A ten-year-old child was found dead on Sunday June 26 at her home in Soissons (Aisne), and her mother, taken to hospital after a suicide attempt, is suspected of homicide, learned the AFP to the prosecution.

The mother, aged "
in her forties
" herself called the emergency services on Sunday morning, "
saying that she wanted to commit suicide because she had a priori killed her child
", explained to AFP the public prosecutor of Soissons, Julien Morino-Ros.
The death would date back several days
Called at 8:35 a.m., the firefighters discovered the child in her room and quickly "
understood that there was nothing more to be done
" to revive her.

It was the Smur doctor who declared the death
," a spokeswoman for the Aisne fire department told AFP.
The death of the little girl, aged around "
10 or 11 years old
", "
would go back several days, but we do not know exactly when at this stage
", continued the prosecutor.

An autopsy and blood tests
” should make it possible to determine the causes of death.
The mother "
is still in the hospital and has not yet been able to be heard
".
Her vital prognosis is not engaged but "
her psychiatric state remains to be assessed
", indicated Julien Morino-Ros, specifying that she had at this stage "
not given any explanation as to why
" of her gesture.
The judicial police have been seized.
