Eng. Maher Assaf, Director of Al-Waleed Mill in Homs, stated that the gin had received about 700 tons of the popular cotton from the Eastern Province at the beginning of the current cotton marketing season.
Assaf indicated in a statement to the SANA Economic Bulletin that the technical workshops last month completed all maintenance and rehabilitation work for the various gin sections in preparation for the start of the receiving and ginning operations for the current season in accordance with the General Cotton Organization plan.
Last season, Al-Walid's ginning in Homs received more than 16,000 tons of popular cotton, resulting in 4,900 tons of ginned cotton and 8,452 tons of seeds.
