Alessandro Talotti, one of the best Italian high jump athletes, died in the night.
On several occasions in the last year he had told about his battle against the tumor that had hit him.
The local media reported it.
During his career, Talotti, 40, from Udine, had participated in the Olympics in Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008.
His indoor record was 2 and 32. In 2002 he obtained fourth place at the European Championships.
A few days ago, Talotti married Silvia Stibilj, roller skating champion;
the couple had a baby, Elio, last fall.
