Alfonso Rueda (Pontevedra, 53 years old) has become this Thursday the sixth autonomous president of Galicia thanks to the absolute majority of the PP and with the vote against the deputies of the Galician Nationalist Bloc (BNG) and the PSdeG-PSOE.

The opposition, which knows the successor of Alberto Núñez Feijóo well because he has been in his shadow for 16 years, 13 of them as counselor and vice president of the Galician Government, see his project as "exhausted" and "without ambitions".

Rueda, invested with Feijóo as a witness because he has not yet left his seat in the Galician Parliament, accuses nationalists and socialists of being "rooted in the no".

The session, in which the PP spokesman, Pedro Puy, suffered an indisposition and was unable to vote, started mid-morning with the opposition's reply to Rueda's speech on Tuesday, in which he promised to demand more powers from the Central government and a drop in personal income tax for next year.

The nationalist Ana Pontón has been convinced that with the arrival of Rueda "the Galician change is underway" and she has criticized that the

number two

of Feijóo in the Xunta take the rudder "by rebound".

While the PP defends that Feijóo has moved to Madrid to "continue serving Galicia", the BNG has attributed Rueda's rise to the fact that "his leader considers it more important to occupy the headquarters of a party convicted of corruption" than the Presidency from Galicia.

"His government always put the interests of the PP ahead," the BNG spokeswoman has reproached Feijóo's successor.

Pontón has described Rueda's speech as "grey and without ambition" and has defended that "there is an alternative", reeling off a good number of promises in the event that one day she becomes president of the Xunta.

From raising non-contributory pensions or lowering the tolls of the main highway in Galicia in a hypothetical first government council, to claiming before the central government an extension of the taxes transferred to the regional coffers, including those paid by the electricity companies for exploiting the natural resources of Galicia.

"Welcome to your virtual investiture of the worlds of Yupi", Rueda responded to the leader of the BNG

The already president of the Xunta has complained that the opposition "is entrenched in the no" and "installed in the topics."

Pontón has been disfigured by the fact that she has been a regional deputy for 18 years and has asked her for “humility”.

"You understand absolutely nothing" about the "priorities of the people", the popular has sentenced.

Rueda has extolled the legacy of Feijóo and has defended that the leader of the PP become a regional senator to be able to confront Pedro Sánchez because that way he "will continue to serve Galicia".

The PSdeG-PSOE sees in Rueda "fatigue", an "exhausted" project.

“His account of him is that he is going to follow the example of Feijóo”, the socialist spokesman Luis Álvarez has made him ugly.

"It's a sequel to a mediocre movie that was already rolling the end credits."

Álvarez has loaded his reply to the candidate for the Presidency of the Xunta with negative data on the

Feijóo era

, from the cut of 138 schools and 1,400 teachers to the disappearance of 9 out of 10 farms.

The Socialists reproach the PP for "always looking for someone to blame for what they are not capable of doing."

Rueda, they add, makes demands on the Government of Pedro Sánchez while he "does not do his homework."

"Perhaps he was much more comfortable as eternal

number two

," Álvarez has ironized.
