(16 October), Emmanuel Macron's roaming on the Algerian war has a decidedly sinuous turn.
Faced with this succession of gestures and declarations, one begins to think of King Henry IV who, to remedy the tears of the Wars of Religion, began the Edict of Nantes with these words:
"First, that the memory of all things passed on one side and the other, from the beginning of March 1585 until our accession to the crown and during the other preceding troubles and on their occasion, will remain extinct and dormant. "
This wise way of turning the page, which had its merits, is obviously no longer relevant.
The president is rather applied to follow the Stora report (January 20, 2021), which recommended, for example, a gesture towards the victims of the demonstration
