Football professional Caiuby is charged with deliberate assault. The 31-year-old, who is under contract with FC Augsburg, did not appear in the criminal proceedings despite the charge. According to his lawyer Fabian Krötz, he missed a flight connection. "He is still stuck at the airport," Krötz told the "Augsburger Allgemeine".
The charge of the court: Caiuby is said to have put a man in a head butt in May 2018 in downtown Augsburg. The man was so badly injured in the head that he had been incapacitated for five days.
Caiuby's defense lawyer Krötz rejected this on behalf of his client. Caiuby had not been involved in the physical confrontation. He was preparing an acquittal, the lawyer said.
Subsequently, the Augsburg district court began to question witnesses. Whether the process can be ended without personal statement Caiubys, is so far unclear.

It is not the first time that the professional has legal trouble: Last fall, the offensive player was sentenced to a fine of 22,500 euros, because he had driven without a ticket train. The sum had been calculated from 30 daily rates of 750 euros each.
The professional has a contract with the Augsburg Bundesliga club until the summer of 2020, but currently does not play. According to recent information from the FCA management, the Brazilian does not stand a chance of making a comeback at the club due to a series of undisciplined actions.
