The sub-committee of fuels in Hama agreed to allocate 16 requests for mazut to support the cultivation of strategic crops in the governorate.
The designated director of Hama Agriculture, Dr. Sami Abu Dan, told SANA reporter today that the committee agreed to support the sugar beet and wheat crops for the current agricultural season by providing farmers’ fuel needs by 50 percent of the actual needs of the cultivated dunams.
Abu Dan explained that 8 liters of subsidy have been allocated for each dunam of sugar beet, 3 for each dunam of irrigated wheat, and 1.5 liters for each dunam of rainfed wheat, provided that the distribution of allocations to sugar beet farmers will start from the 15th of October until the first of next November, while the distribution of allocations will begin Wheat is made of diesel from the first of next month until the 31st of December.
Abu Dan indicated that the areas allocated to beet cultivation in the jungle amount to 4,322 hectares, while in Hama it is 63 hectares. As for irrigated wheat in the area of the Al-Ghab Development Authority, the planned areas amount to 44,000 hectares for irrigated and 3,18 hectares for rainfed wheat, indicating that the planned areas for wheat Irrigated in Hama Agriculture Directorate is 25 thousand hectares and 20 thousand hectares for rainfed wheat.
