Another huge deal for Alstom.
A few days ago, the world's second largest railway manufacturer sold nearly € 1 billion 42 train sets for a new line in Yucatan (Mexico).
On Sunday, it was the Minister of the Economy, Bruno Le Maire, traveling to Cairo, who announced the news, ie
“the supply of 55 metro trainsets by Alstom in order to renew line 1 of the Cairo metro.
"
An order worth 800 million euros which is not anecdotal: in the 2020-2021 fiscal year ended at the end of March, the French group which absorbed the Canadian Bombardier Transport at the end of January signed for 9.1 billion new business .
Concretely, this operation will make life easier for Cairenes: there will be more trains on metro line 1, used by nearly 1.5 million Egyptians every day.
On the Alstom side, it is the guarantee of having a well-completed production plan for several of its factories.
“
This project represents a significant load for Alstom sites in France
