In 1992, Wayne's World caused a sensation in the cinemas.
Now the AMC Pacer from the film is going under the hammer.
Scottsdale (USA) – With a box office result of 183 million US dollars (around 161 million euros), the comedy Wayne's World was one of the most successful films in 1992 and only just missed out on the top 10 with 11th place.
In the film about the two rock music fans Wayne Campbell (Mike Meyers) and Garth Algar (Dana Carvey), an AMC Pacer was also part of the party.
The movie car is likely to be remembered by many mainly because of its unusual appearance.
Because the AMC Pacer (built in 1976) was painted by the studio in baby blue with flames.
This was rounded off with a set of rims, which, however, did not fit together.
The appearance of the "Mirthmobile" - the nickname in the film - was an allusion to the fact that the Pacer was long considered a lame and ugly loser car.

Just in time for the 30th anniversary, Wayne's World fans can now auction the "Mirthmobile" at a Barrett Jackson auction in Scottsdale at the end of January, as reported by 24auto.de.
The Pacer has been restored as described and restored to movie condition.
Accordingly, there is also a liquorice and cup dispenser in the interior.

Only the Pacer's sound system doesn't match the condition of the filming of Wayne's World.
The originally installed 10-inch speakers were not functional, so a new and improved audio system was installed.

By the way, this isn't the first time Wayne's World fans have had the chance to purchase the Mirthmobile.
As reported by Motor1.com, the Pacer was sold after filming.
Then, in 2015, he appeared in an episode of the TV show Pawn Stars.

Just a year later, the Mirthmobile first went under the hammer at Barrett-Jackson, selling for $37,400.
That may not be much for a movie car, but it is for a Pacer.
This time, however, the car could sell for significantly more money.
There is no minimum price.
