A police officer spontaneously showed up this morning at the police station after being immortalized in a video in which he hits a demonstrator on the ground during last Saturday's demonstration.
In other images he can be seen while he is among the demonstrators in Piazzale Flaminio.
The policeman will be reported to the judicial authority which will evaluate the work.
Yesterday - the Police Headquarters points out - a post was circulated on social channels that traced these conduct to a police officer, who instead turned out to be completely unrelated to the facts.
The author of the post was sued for libel and slander.
