Damascus-SANA
The Syrian General Insurance Corporation signed a framework agreement with the People’s Credit Bank that allows people with low incomes working in the state to obtain their loans from the bank under the guarantee of an insurance policy issued by the institution, including life insurance, instead of the personal guarantees required to obtain loans from the bank.
This agreement comes after a meeting held by representatives of the bank and the institution today at the bank’s headquarters, where its general manager, Dr. Nidal Al-Arbeed, confirmed in a statement to SANA’s delegate after the meeting that the agreement aims to simplify procedures for people with limited income to secure their access to loans and end the difficulties they face in securing personal guarantors.
Al-Arbeed pointed out that there are some executive procedures related to the mentioned insurance policy, which are being discussed and agreed upon between the bank and the institution to start implementing the agreement signed between the two parties.
For his part, the Director of Syria Insurance, Dr. Nizar Zayoud, explained that the agreement with the bank contributes to expanding the provision of insurance services and achieves the interest of all parties and relieves the burdens on borrowers by exempting them from securing personal guarantors and achieving speed in completing their loan transactions and facilitating their access to financing.
Zayoud indicated that the agreement with the credit allows state workers who wish to obtain a limited income loan from the bank to choose between personal guarantors or an insurance policy in return for an annual insurance premium.
It is noteworthy that it is the second agreement of this kind, where the Savings Bank concluded with the Syrian General Insurance Corporation on the 4th of this January an initial agreement that provides for insurance on low-income loans granted by the bank so that the insurance policy is the primary guarantor for the borrower in addition to life insurance .
