An asteroid or a mysterious missile? Another Moon to Earth | Israel today

We all know our moon that orbits the earth for billions of years.

But this coming October the Earth will receive for another four months another moon called 2020SO. 

This new and temporary moon will not be the Earth's first second moon.

In the past, rocks have been captured by the gravitational pull of our planet that surrounded it for several months until it was released and continued to travel in our solar system.

For example in 2006-7 we were visited by a small moon called RH120 that orbited the sky around our globe for actually two years.

Another object that was identified and orbited the Earth is called 2020CD3 - a space object that orbited the Earth from 2018 to our year. 

But unlike ordinary space rocks, which can sometimes be trapped in Earth's orbit, the current object is unusual and scientists believe it may even be a rocket that humanity lived in the 1960s toward the moon, and later disappeared. 

The main reason for this is due to the angle of the object which is very suitable for launching a rocket from Earth and also the speed of the small object which is significantly lower than ordinary asteroids.

While ordinary space rocks move at a relatively high speed of between 11 and 72 kilometers per second, this object moves at a speed of 600 meters per second.

The connection of these two pieces of evidence, both the angle at which the object moves relative to the Earth and its speed, is significant evidence that it was probably a rocket launched into space as part of a research move to the moon called Surveyor 2 in 1966. The 

rockets used in those research expeditions were not returned to Earth. Left in space as unused waste.

But this time this debris, or rather the rocket, returns for at least a short time to orbit the earth, from which it probably first emerged.
