The meeting also discussed a memorandum submitted by the Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade in the immediate, medium and long terms, which included a set of foundations that include protecting basic and emerging industries, improving the infrastructure that supports export activities and the production of goods required for export, expanding the circle of international economic relations, and securing the necessary logistical services to complete the export process and freight cost support programs. Emphasis was placed on promoting the Syrian product through the Syrian embassies, developing the Syrian brand, supporting and encouraging the establishment of large companies for export, establishing craft incubators to develop craft products that fit the needs of foreign markets, spreading the export culture in production unions, focusing on a group of industries to transform them into export industries and take advantage of the advantages. The meeting also stressed the importance of gradually shifting from exporting goods that are surplus to domestic consumption to building export-oriented industries, building an international reputation for Syrian products, enhancing cooperation between the public and private sectors, and taking what is necessary to facilitate the access of Syrian products to foreign markets through marketing and promotional plans for the Local Production Support and Development Authority. The meeting concluded with the necessity of setting standards to regulate the production and export of agricultural products, establishing marketing companies for agricultural products, centers for granting accreditation certificates, organizing and licensing centers for packing and sorting vegetables and fruits, providing accurate information on foreign markets and their needs, issuing export standards and combating smuggling.
