Today, more than half a million students in the classes of the first cycle of basic education in Syria are listening to the English language lessons recorded in the voice of the expatriate Syrian girl Haya Ali... in an experiment that is considered the first of its kind educationally with the aim of imparting sound and proficient language and verbal skills.
Haya, who lives in Britain with her parents, explained in a special statement to SANA that she initially set up a YouTube channel to teach English to Arabic speakers through videos she used to publish on social media, which caught the attention of English language teachers in Syria. Spontaneous delivery of information flexibly and effectively, in cooperation with a specialized team from the Ministry of Education.
Haya stated that the registration of the activity book for the English language for the first grade has been completely completed and is working on recording my second and third books, noting that she is recording videos for the same purpose on her YouTube channel to deliver the correct pronunciation in English to Arabic speakers on a large scale and to provide meaningful and useful content.
Nine-year-old Haya, who lived in Syria for two years and yearned for her homeland, wanted this experience to be a bridge of communication between her and the children of the country who would listen to her voice and benefit from her language in a purposeful and unconventional way, expressing her pride and happiness in this work, which she considers the most important achievement in her present and future.
Haya concluded her speech to SANA by saying: “I wish good, peace and love for Syria and its children and for all the country,” stressing that nothing is impossible in front of determination and determination.
Regarding the role of the Ministry of Education in developing the English language skills of the students of the basic education stage, Basil Sadek, the first teacher of the English language in the ministry, confirmed in a similar statement that it is a new experience of its kind in the field of language teaching that has been adopted to take advantage of the high skills that the girl Haya has in the language and her unique mastery of the language. The pronunciation of the British dialect comes from the Ministry's keenness to develop educational mechanisms in this aspect in a practical and interactive way away from traditional methods.
On the mechanism of coordination and access to the girl Haya, Sadiq explained that through one of the specialized teachers, the girl was reached, and it became clear to us from the first test the extent of her professionalism, the integrity of her pronunciation, and her ability to register in a lively and enjoyable way, taking into account the appropriate age level for the receiving students, being of the same stage, pointing to the importance of the role of Parents encourage their children and enhance their language skills.
Sadiq pointed to a similar experience carried out by the ministry’s specialized team for secondary school students with the help of a Syrian expatriate in Britain, stressing the need to deal with foreign languages proficiently and to practice them in practical life to keep pace with the requirements of the times and not be satisfied with studying them as a subject subject to tests and grades.
