This week, Pfizer announced that a study it conducted found that children aged 5 to 11 against corona were safe and effective for them. According to Pfizer, the results of the experiment showed in children who were vaccinated a similar response to the experiment conducted on ages 25-16 as well as in older adults.

So far, only 12-year-olds and older have been vaccinated with Pfizer's Corona vaccine, which was first approved with an emergency permit from the age of 16 and received full approval last month. Children ages 5 to 11 who participated in the trial received two injections of 10 micrograms doses of the vaccine, about one-third the size of the dose given to people 12 and older. The company also expects to receive data on the vaccine function of children aged 2 to 5 and children aged 6 months to 2 years already in the last quarter of the year.

Unlike the larger clinical trial previously conducted by the drug manufacturer in adults, the 2,268 children who participated in the study were not designed to measure vaccine efficacy by comparing the number of coronary heart disease cases among vaccine recipients versus those receiving the placebo.

Instead, the experiment compares the amount of antibodies obtained in the vaccine for children compared to those obtained in the vaccine for adults.

A Pfizer spokesman said the company may later reveal the vaccine's effectiveness, but there have not yet been enough corona cases among participants to determine this.
