Penzberg / Erding - Five medals and several personal bests - the athletes of TSV Penzberg made impressive appearances at the Bavarian championship for women, men, U20 and U18.

The most successful was once again Andreas Kölbl with two golds.

Corinna Braun successfully fought against pain in her 800 meter premiere.

Andreas Kölbl:

It has become a tradition for Andreas Kölbl to run an extensive program during competitions in the stadium.

It was no different in Erding.

And with three personal bests and two titles, things “couldn't have gone much better” for the Sindelsdorf-based man, said TSV trainer Markus Brennauer.

Over the 400 meter hurdles, he increased his record by a whopping four tenths. With a time of 52.22 seconds, he referred the DM eighth and permanent opponent Michael Adolf (TSV Graefelfing / 52.89) and the Bavarian 400-meter champion Christopher Löffelmann (LG Erlangen / 53.48) to the final more places. Halfway through the race, Kölbl was still behind the two, the gap to Adolf was even more than ten meters. But while the others slowed down, the 26-year-old was able to keep up his pace. “Up to the sixth hurdle, the 14er rhythm was almost too tight today. I then pulled through to the eighth hurdle and only then switched to the 15 rhythm. From then on I tried to really put pressure on, ”said Kölbl after the race. After the tenth hurdle, also the last,he had caught up with Adolf - to the finish he ran out a lead of five meters.

Almost three hours later, Kölbl took the second title over the 110 meter hurdles with a personal best of 15.03 seconds.

The exciting duel with André Zahl (TS Herzogenaurach) was only decided after the last hurdle.

Until then, the leadership between the two kept changing.

On the first day of the championship, Kölbl just missed a medal over the 400 meters.

In the battle for bronze he had to admit defeat to Michael Schäfer (TSV Graefelfing) by five hundredths.

Kölbl ran the stadium lap in 49.39 seconds.

Nick Jäger:

After his respectable eleventh place at the U23 European Championship in Tallinn over the 3000 meter obstacle, Nick Jäger is still in good shape. In Erding, he improved his personal record in the 1500 meter race by more than two seconds to 3: 49.35 minutes. In a high-class race, he took the silver medal behind his training mate Florian Bremm (TV Leutershausen / 3: 48.75). Bronze went to another training colleague, Brian Weisheit (LSC Höchstadt / 3: 49.90). The day before, he had won the 800-meter race in 1: 52.74 minutes; Jäger took seventh place there (1: 55.64 minutes).

Michaela Kölbl:

Michaela Kölbl had her race over the 400 meter hurdles, even with a personal best of 65.78 seconds.

But it was not clear whether that would be enough for a medal.

Because the results of two time runs were decisive for the overall result.

In the end, two athletes were faster in the second run, but Andreas Kölbl's younger sister could be satisfied.

In one of her evenly completed races, she managed to catch up with her direct competitors.

Kölbl improved her previous best time by two tenths of a second.

Julian Herter:

The mishap would have completely thrown some others off their concept: At the end of his 400-meter hurdle run, Julian Herter (17) stepped into the ninth and tenth hurdles.

But he only stumbled briefly and pulled through to the finish line.

The action was rewarded with a personal best (59.00) and the silver medal in the U20 class.

He also set a house record over the 200 meters: 24.09 seconds meant sixth place.

Sven Lange:

Like his peer Julian Herter, Sven Lange set two personal bests in the Sepp-Brenninger-Stadion.

In the 200-meter sprint, he undercut his eight-day best time by 0.63 seconds.

23.73 seconds meant fourth place;

the distance to bronze was 64 hundredths.

Over the 400 meters, Lange finished sixth with 53.53 seconds.

Corinna Braun:

Corinna Braun (17) dared to do the 800 meters for the first time in Erding.

With a time of 2: 18.39 minutes, she managed "an extremely strong performance", according to a press release.

In the U18 age group, the young woman from Benediktbeuern came in fifth.

Braun acted tactically skillfully during the two rounds and pushed himself forward continuously.

She completed the first lap after 68.5 seconds and was ninth.

When the pace was increased at the front 200 meters from the finish, the field was pulled apart.

Braun kept her high pace.

At the beginning of the home straight she overtook two runners.

"My legs hurt so much," she said.

Nevertheless, she did not slow down and overtook two runners in the last 50 meters.

Raffieu Deen Johnson:

TSV sprinter Raffieu Deen Johnson (21) went into the final over the 100 meters with hopes for the bronze medal. They were nourished by the performances in the run-up (10.99 seconds) and in the intermediate run (10.96). The favorites, Fabian Olbert (LG Stadtwerke München) and Jonas Hügen (LAC Quelle Fürth), were unreachable under normal circumstances. A bad start in the final prevented Johnson's medal win. The Penzberger tried to catch up with his opponents for bronze, Dominik Eckner (LG Forchheim) and Maximilan Brantl (SV Germering). But he tensed up and could no longer close the gap. With 11.05 seconds (5th place) he was twelve hundredths behind the third placed Eckner. It won Olbert (10.46) before Hügen (10.66). Over the 200 meters, Johnson finished sixth with 22.18 seconds.
