(ANSA) - ISTANBUL, 28 SEPT - Turkey has asked the world to recognize the "independence" of the northern part of the island of Cyprus, internationally recognized exclusively by Ankara.
"All countries have been invited to recognize the independence of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus", says a statement issued by Ankara after a session of the National Security Council chaired by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
This was announced by Anadolu.
"Activities to defend the rights of Turkish Cypriots will continue with determination," the statement wrote.
