The news surprised.
On January 10, the very day of the announcement of the success of Veolia's takeover bid on Suez, its initiator, Antoine Frérot, announced his intention to hand over the operational reins of the company.
In a brief press release, Veolia announced a separation of the functions of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer as of July 1.
And that Antoine Frérot, 64 years old next June, would only retain that of president.
