Schwabach - On Thursday night (May 6th) there was a fire in an apartment building near Nuremberg * in the Schwabach district of Wolkersdorf.

Three people were injured, as reported by the police in Middle Franconia *. 

Shortly after 3 a.m., the operations center received several emergency calls about an apartment fire on Tuchergasse in the Schwabach district of Wolkersdorf.

Several volunteer fire brigades and rescue services were alerted immediately.

When the police arrived, it was already noticed that there was heavy smoke.

The two residents (38, 13) had saved themselves on the roof of the house.

A 34-year-old man was still in the apartment.

The volunteer fire brigades from Wolkersdorf, Dietersdorf and Schwabach began to rescue the people and, at the same time, to extinguish the fire.

The residents were brought to safety by means of a turntable ladder and medicated immediately.

The 34-year-old man was taken outside of the house.

He then had to be taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The 38-year-old woman and her 13-year-old daughter suffered injuries, including from smoke gas intoxication.

The injured were treated by the ambulance service and then taken to hospital.  

Fire in apartment building in Schwabach: Fire probably broke out in the kitchen

The Schwabach police station carried out initial surveys and traffic measures.

After the extinguishing work was completed, the Central Franconian Criminal Police Service took over the investigation into the cause of the fire.

According to initial findings, the fire broke out in the kitchen area.  

The specialist commissioner of the Schwabach criminal police is investigating.

According to initial estimates, the property damage is around 60,000 euros.

Investigators are currently assuming that the fire was caused negligently.
