The musician came across a painful text written by Yoav Ginai in "Israel Today" about the disgraceful treatment of Holocaust survivors - and decided to compose it • Listen to "The Last Survivor"

"I am the last survivor so look me in the eyes, the last who still testifies in the first person and also remembers every detail. I am the last survivor now looking at the sky. All my sisters and all my brothers have already parted, dissolved slowly. I am the last and after me - look, everything will be calm. No. You will have to worry more about how I live and how I am in general. All the ceremonies will be much more beautiful and will last a week. The speeches will be more stinging and fire will always rise. Minutes, less one or two speeches, because there will no longer be anyone to say anything on behalf of the survivors. "

These words were written by Yoav Ginai in a text published in "Israel Today" on Holocaust Day last year, under the heading "The Last Survivor."

This song, which has several more houses, was written following a wave of articles in various media outlets reporting on Holocaust survivors struggling with poverty and reaching for turnips.

"The highlight was the reporting of a glorious ceremony attended by world leaders held in Jerusalem on International Holocaust Remembrance Day," says Guinea.

"The media reported that there was no room for the Holocaust survivors themselves. The song was born as a cry in the face of the disgraceful treatment of the Holocaust survivors living within us. I hoped we could change the situation of these women and men in some way. We do not have much time for that."

Musician Arkady Duchin was exposed to the painful text, and he was deeply influenced by it.

He decided to compose the lyrics and went to record a musical sketch.

For a whole year the sketch remained in a drawer.

Then, a few days ago, Duchin decided to take the song out of the drawer and release it to the world.

Today, on the eve of Holocaust Martyrs 'and Heroes' Remembrance Day, the song will be released to radio and media stations.

"I came across this special song written by Yoav Ginai," says Duchin.

"In my opinion, there is the question of the questions here: What will happen after there is no one else to tell that terrible story?

To me it touched on full points.

Our memory is elusive, the mind tends to forget.

This last survivor stands alone in front of all those whose lives go on, who have not been stopped.

The shame index is losing itself.

To me this song is an important writer.

We need to remember, respect, tell the world, and not just here in Israel.

I think it is necessary to translate this text into dozens of languages of the nations of this world. "

Guinea tells of the phone call he received from Duchin." Arkady is one of our wonderful musicians, who always excites me with his virtuoso abilities to compose lyrics.

He read the rhyming column I wrote in the opinion section of 'Israel Today', called me all excited by the words, and asked my permission to compose it.

Of course I agreed.

When he sent me the melodic song - I shivered.

He gave the words depth and echoed them with his great voice and talent. "
