Damascus Governorate continues to implement its service plan for asphalting works and maintenance of public facilities to improve the road situation and improve the service level in the city.

The director of supervision in the governorate, Eng. Hisham Al-Hamwi, said in a statement to a SANA representative that the workshops began asphalting work in the Mezzeh 86 neighborhood to include a number of roads with an area of ​​7,000 square meters.

The workshops are also working on asphalting a number of roads in the neighborhood of Ish al-Warwar in Barzeh, including the main entrance and subsidiary lanes with an area of ​​2,200 square meters, according to al-Hamwi, who indicated that manual asphalting will be in lanes where it is difficult for vehicles to enter.

Al-Hamwi explained that the asphalting work will also include several areas in the city in the canals and field services departments, where contacts were made with service institutions such as water, electricity, sewage and telephone to implement the infrastructure works (if any) before starting the asphalt, pointing out that the workshops scraped the asphalt of the road coming down from the customs yard. Towards the Umayyad Square and the road extending from the end of the Ministry of Tourism to the traffic intersection in Victoria and around Syria Towers in Baramkeh Garage (formerly Beirut), in preparation for the asphalting work that will take place on holidays to prevent traffic jams.
