At a cost exceeding 107 million Syrian pounds ... digging a water well in the village of Kanaker in Sweida

The Public Corporation for Drinking Water in Sweida started digging a well in the village of Kanaker, at a depth of 500 meters, with an estimated cost of drilling and cladding of 107.910 million pounds.

In a statement to SANA correspondent today, the Director General of the Foundation, Engineer Wael Shukair, said that the well is an alternative source for the water well in Kanaker village, which has left the investment, as water is currently provided to citizens by tanks pending the completion of the preparation of the alternative well.

Eng. Choucair pointed out that the Foundation is currently preparing to start digging two new wells in the town of Shaqa and the village of Lahatha, indicating that the work sites have been handed over to the contracting parties for the two wells projects in order to start with them.

The General Organization for Drinking Water in Sweida this month completed the replacement and renewal works of the raw water pumping station from Al-Taybeh Dam towards the purification station on the Al-Mushfif Al-Mouthi Dam for a number of villages in the eastern countryside of the governorate.

On the other hand, the town council of Tarba completed the implementation of a project of paving and maintenance of roads in a number of villages belonging to the council, as part of the efforts made to improve the service situation in them.

In a similar statement, the head of the town council of Tarba Mamdouh Salam indicated that the project included three roads with a length of 500 meters in the village of Taybeh, three roads in the village of Tarba, a length of 700 meters, and the entrance to the old village of Umm Rwaq, a length of 500 meters.

Salam pointed out that the project was part of the council’s plan to maintain public roads that were the most damaged and old and served the homes of many citizens, in addition to a similar project that was implemented about five months ago in the villages of Tarba and Umm Rwaq.

The town council of the town of Tarba belongs to the villages of Tarba, al-Kasib, Umm Rwaq, al-Ajilat and al-Tayybe.
