At least two dead and four injured in a shooting in Baton Rouge

The shooting began around 2:00 am in a parking lot when an argument broke out among a group of people. Two people died from their injuries and four others were taken to a nearby hospital.

The Baton Rouge, Louisiana Police Department is investigating a shooting that left two dead and at least four injured early Saturday morning.

L'Jean McKneely Jr. explained that it happened in a parking lot around 2:00 am (local time) when an argument began between unidentified people outside a concert at a venue called Capital Park Bar and Grill on Florida Boulevard.

During the discussion, authorities said that several people started shooting.

Six were shot.

Police said Kyren Walton, 25, and Ladarius Alexander, 20, died of gunshot wounds.

The other four victims were taken to a local hospital and are expected to survive.

The owners of Capital Park Bar and Grill communicated in an Instagram post that they "have cooperated and will continually cooperate with authorities and we ask everyone to keep the families of the victims in their thoughts and prayers during this time."

As of Saturday afternoon, no suspects had been identified, according to police.

Investigators urged anyone with information to contact the Violent Crimes Unit at 225-389-4869 or Crime Stoppers at 225-344-7867.

Until further notice, all events at Capital Park Bar and Grill "have been canceled and no further comment will be made as this is an ongoing investigation. As a community, we ask that we finally make a resolution to stop the violence."
