Apparently looking for a new home, a Schwanen family set out on a walk towards Tegernsee.

Animal lovers escorted the birds safely through the whole of Gmund.

Gmund

- A swan family with three chicks went on a long wandering in Gmund on Wednesday evening (June 16).

The birds crossed three main streets, a railroad track and a couple of large meadows at a brisk pace.

Katja Stecher, who was driving her car from Dürnbach in the direction of Gmund, witnessed the unusual walk when she saw the swans on the street.

A great feeling on a perfect evening.

The woman from Gmund decided without further ado to escort the Schwanen family, who were clearly on their way to Tegernsee, so that they would not be endangered.

She was supported by a few friends.

At the lido in Kaltenbrunn, the helpers were finally able to say goodbye to the swans for the lake.

"A great feeling on a perfect evening," says Stecher happily, who is convinced that the animals would not have made the long distance on their own.

The chairwoman of the animal welfare association wonders about the behavior of the swans

Johanna Ecker-Schotte, chairwoman of the Tegernseer Tal animal protection association, is surprised at the behavior of the swans.

She herself has never seen swans go on such a long walk.

“It's nice that the animals arrived safely,” she says.
