Erfurt - A 41-year-old German has had to answer to the regional court since Thursday.

He is said to have racially insulted and brutally attacked a young Syrian on a tram in Erfurt at the end of April.

The public prosecutor's office accuses him, among other things, of dangerous bodily harm, attempted coercion, insults and damage to property.

The co-prosecution proposed on Thursday that the indictment should be broadened to include allegations of attempted murder for base motives.

According to the public prosecutor and defense attorney, it could be clarified on Friday whether the notice will be taken up.

Negotiating days are scheduled for the process until next Tuesday (October 26th).
