Attacked on the street, without prior knowledge and without motive: 34-year-old from Holon accused of assaulting an elderly man
The 34-year-old from Holon is accused of attacking 76-year-old Eliyahu Shalom in the middle of the street, causing him to break his femur.
From his hospital bed, Eliyahu said: "All in all, I was on my way to my granddaughter's birthday. This is not something that should happen in our country, we should love each other."

The Tel Aviv District Police Prosecution filed an indictment today (Thursday) against a 34-year-old Holon resident, on suspicion of assaulting an elderly man on the street and causing him serious injuries.
According to the suspect, the defendant attacked the elderly man on the street, with no prior acquaintance or motive, and fled the scene leaving him sprawled on the sidewalk, without providing him with assistance.
The elderly man, Eliyahu Shalom, 76, from Holon, was taken to Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv, where he is still hospitalized.
From his hospital bed, Eliyahu said that the assailant pushed him hard and knocked him to the ground.
As a result of the fall, the elderly man was hit on the sidewalk, causing a fracture in his femur.
"Overall I was on my way to my granddaughter's birthday. It's not something that should happen in our country. We should love each other."
