One of the rescuers managed to rescue a third pup who is rapidly recovering, which was given the name 'Hope'.

"It took about two hours to warm it up and see it give back signs of life. The two 17-year-olds will be tried by a juvenile court on November 22, on charges of beating the animals to death.
