A total of 788 French automotive and aeronautical companies have received or will receive modernization aid as part of the recovery plan announced at the end of 2020, for an amount of 654 million euros to date, a reported Thursday the Ministry of Industry.

The latter announced on Thursday 98 new winners of the support and modernization funds announced as part of the France Relance plan for these two sectors: 53 are SMEs, mid-cap companies or large automotive groups, which will receive 49 million euros in funding. public aid, and 45 are in aeronautics, for an aid amount of 28 million euros.

This latest wave of winners comes on top of the previous ones, announced in January, March, June and September, bringing the total number of projects supported to 788.

And "other waves of aid will be announced in the coming months," we told the Ministry of Industry.

Grouped together in the France Relance plan, aid is granted to "projects" for the modernization, diversification and greening of technologies, which should enable manufacturers to absorb the crisis while preparing for the future, in particular to digitize and automate their processes. , or prepare the green plane of the future.

1.74 billion euros of productive investment made

Previously, in 2020, exceptional aid had been announced by President Emmanuel Macron on May 26 for the automobile, and by the Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Maire on June 9 for aeronautics, due to the historic crisis affecting these two “pillars of French industry”.

By leverage, by adding private investment, the 654 million euros of public aid under the France Relance plan allow the winning companies to achieve 1.74 billion euros in productive investment in total, a specified the ministry.

Aid has been granted in all regions.

In the automotive sector and its subcontractors, it is the companies of the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region that have received the largest sums since the start, 81 million euros, but spread over 102 different projects and companies.

In aeronautics, unsurprisingly, it was companies in the Occitanie region, where Airbus is based, that received the largest overall sum, 64 million euros, spread over 67 different projects.

"Launched in the summer of 2010, the dedicated support funds have been very successful, with more than 2,100 applications received", welcomed the Minister Delegate in charge of Industry Agnès Pannier-Runacher.
