Back to school: what you need to know about the health pass

2021-09-08T07:11:45.674Z

Associations and sports establishments open to the public have been subject to the application of the health pass since mid-August. Return

The news had not made much noise in the middle of the summer, school holidays oblige. However, since July 21, the health pass has appeared in sport, including in the amateur world. By announcing in the middle of the month an extension of the measure to establishments open to the public, Emmanuel Macron thus led the Federations, clubs and associations to organize themselves to welcome practitioners and the public in the best possible conditions, while setting up controls of adults. A device "well perceived" at the time by rugby clubs, who wanted to "avoid at all costs potential new closures", then assured the Federation.

Because the measure "is not à la carte", insists the Ministry of Sports, which specifies that the checks will be carried out by the clubs themselves (managers, employees, volunteers).

All establishments open to the public are concerned, for both children and accompanying adults, regardless of the number of people present on site.

Only the activities organized in the public space, not subject to declaration or prefectural authorization, remain accessible without this sesame.

Do not worry if you are going to run in the public space alone or with friends, the health pass cannot be claimed from you.

Required for ages 12 and over from September 30

Their vaccination course having started later than for the rest of the population, young people under 18 are not currently affected by the health pass checks, but their situation will change as of September 30. It will then be "required in all establishments", for "all audiences, 12 years and over, without exception", indicates the Ministry of Sports. A measure applied both for activities practiced indoors (gymnasiums, aquatic spaces, dojos, etc.) and for outdoor activities (athletics, horse riding, rowing, etc.).

As for club employees, also exempted for a time, they must present a complete vaccination schedule, a negative test of less than 48 hours or a certificate of recovery from Covid-19 since the beginning of September. Here again, the clubs will have to mobilize one of their employees or volunteers to ensure the checks. The measure will be maintained at least until November 15, as for all the public places concerned.
