Back to the lines: Mladen Krastic is expected to be appointed coach of the Bulgarian national team

After leaving Maccabi Tel Aviv, the Serb will serve for the second time in his career as coach of a national team after doing so in his homeland as well.

Less than a month and a half has passed since Mladen Krastić finished his job at Maccabi Tel Aviv, and now he is on his way to the next stop in his career.

After serving as the coach of the Serbian national team in the 2018 World Cup, the Serbian is expected to coach a national team again - Bulgaria.

Krasteich will earn about 400,000 euros net per year, and as he did in Israel, he will bring a team to the new station.

He will make his debut on the lines in September, when the Bulgarians will play against Gibraltar and Northern Macedonia in the League of Nations.

After that, the Serb will also continue to the Euro 2024 qualifying campaign. Bulgaria, which is ranked 74th in the FIFA rankings, has so far been disappointed in the League of Nations campaign when it has scored just three points from four games.

As a former partisan Belgrade player, Werder Bremen and Schalke began his coaching career with the Serbian national team, which he failed to raise from the home stage of the World Cup in Russia.

His first team was the local Bachka Topula, which he left in October 2021, and in December was appointed coach of Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Krasteich failed to recover Maccabi Tel Aviv from a bad start to the season, finished in third place in the league and was eliminated by Hapoel Beer Sheva in the cup.

In Europe, Krasteich coached the Yellows in a pair of Conference League games against PSV Eindhoven, in which the Dutch won 1: 2 in the sum of the two meetings.
