The large Bavarian companies are in the starting blocks: soon tens of thousands of employees are to be immunized against the coronavirus.

An overview.

Munich

- In many Bavarian companies, preparations have been going on for weeks to vaccinate their own workforce against Sars-CoV-2.

On the one hand, there is a model project: Prime Minister Markus Söder * (CSU) has announced 50,000 doses for a limited number of companies - for first and second vaccinations.

The model project is about “testing and improving the organization and processes in the companies”.

However, it is not yet clear who is allowed to take part in the project.

Independently of this, the companies are working on their own vaccination programs, here they want to adhere to the vaccination sequence prescribed by the federal government.

This also means: If the vaccination prioritization * falls in Bavaria at the end of May, as planned by the state government, the workforce of the companies could be vaccinated.

Corona: Bavaria's companies are ready to start vaccinating

Allianz:

The Munich insurance group Allianz is ready: "Our 27 vaccination lines at 15 central, large operating sites nationwide will be ready to go from the second half of April," said a company spokeswoman.

As a member of the "Bavarian Vaccine Alliance", the alliance (40,000 employees) is currently in an exchange with the authorities as to whether they will be involved in the Bavarian model project.

BMW:

BMW CEO Oliver Zipse announced in mid-March that it would build its own vaccination lines.

At that time Zipse assumed that it would be able to start in May.

The aim was to vaccinate all employees within four to five weeks.

At the end of March, BMW * said that the start date was dependent on sufficient vaccine availability for company doctors.

BMW is in an exchange with the state authorities and will join the given prioritization.

Siemens:

Siemens (115,000 employees in Germany) prepares vaccinations for its company doctors and refers to its experience with the flu vaccination.

Munich Re:

The reinsurer Munich Re is currently examining the feasibility of an in-house vaccination center on campus, according to a company spokesman.

If the operation of a vaccination center does not make sense - because, for example, too few vaccines or too few staff are available - the group plans a vaccination campaign "analogous to the annual flu vaccination campaign in the company medical center".

Around 3,500 people work for Munich Re in Munich.

Knorr-Bremse: The

Munich MDax company Knorr-Bremse is working “under high pressure on the preparations for future in-house vaccinations at the Munich location,” said a spokesman.

In the event that the vaccine is released to private companies, the intention is to make a vaccination offer to all 30,000 employees.

MAN:

The message that applies to the 20,000 MAN employees in Germany is: "Our company supports the idea of immunizing as many people as possible as quickly as possible," says Oliver Breitkopf, senior company doctor.

It is therefore logical that vaccinations should be offered to all employees as soon as possible.

All preparations have been completed, cooling facilities have been set up and the necessary material has been procured.

Infineon:

Infineon wants to offer employees a vaccination option as soon as the company doctors are included in the vaccination strategy, as a spokesman for the MDax company from Neubiberg explained.

The possibilities for a company offer of Covid-19 vaccinations would be checked and prepared at Infineon.

"As is well known, we as a company cannot purchase corona vaccines *, so we are dependent on vaccines being allocated."

Audi:

The Ingolstadt car manufacturer Audi (59,000 employees) would like to be part of the Bavarian model project.

However, Audi is already ready "as soon as the vaccine supply and the current vaccination sequence allow this to start vaccination operations at short notice in the health centers and medical centers in Ingolstadt * and Neckarsulm".

Grob:

The mechanical engineering company Grob in Mindelheim (6200 employees) has drawn up its own list of priorities: First everyone who travels a lot - abroad or on construction sites - should be vaccinated, followed by sales, office and production areas.

HypoVereinsbank:

The vaccination concept of the Munich-based HypoVereinsbank provides for around 20 vaccination lines to be set up at around 15 locations in Germany within four weeks.

As soon as the vaccine is available, 12,000 employees will benefit.

"The appropriate medical equipment is available, the structural measures are currently being implemented," said HVB board member Boris Scukanec Hopinski.
