Accordingly, the mood at the Poland game in the Albanian capital Tirana was heated from the start. It was 0-0 for a long time, Lewandowski did not want the redeeming goal for his Poles *. Of course, the Albanian supporters didn't like that at all, they immediately threw objects at the Polish players who were celebrating the goal.

Lewandowski was right in the middle of the jubilation grape, even asking the supporters with hand movements to stop throwing.

Fortunately, neither he nor his colleagues were injured - they still had to take one or two bottle hits.

And even in Tirana, after the scandalous moment, the game was not played any further.

The Poles and their coach Paulo Sousa complained loudly to referee Clement Turpin about the throwing attacks by the Albanian fans.

According to the AP news agency, a Polish official finally called on the players to leave the pitch.

Both teams then disappeared into the dressing room, Turpin interrupted the game.

After a break of around 20 minutes, the match could be continued.

According to the AP, the stadium announcer pointed out to the audience that the game could be abandoned in the event of further incidents and scored against Albania.

So the remaining minutes could still be completed - without major incidents.

Bayern * coach Julian Nagelsmann will be fine: His protégé returns to Munich safe and sound and with a good starting position for the remaining World Cup qualification.

Lewandowski will meet again next Sunday - the top game against Leverkusen is on the program.
