Beekeepers' products in the annual flower fair in Tishreen Garden

The 41st annual flower exhibition, organized by the Ministry of Tourism in cooperation with the Damascus Governorate, hosts special pavilions for beekeepers' products and their work requirements in Tishreen Park.

The director of one of the apiaries companies, the agricultural engineer, Mohamed Samer Rabat, explained to SANA that participation in the exhibition is divided between beehive products such as honey, propolis, pollen, royal jelly, and products manufactured using honey such as shampoo and cosmetic creams.

Rabat pointed out that honey products are of various types and meet the tastes of visitors, "such as citrus honey, anise, baraka, jabali, jarred, capers, hallab and eucalyptus."

Reda Ali Deeb, owner of a beekeeping company, said: “We participate every year in the flower exhibition to display our natural products of honey, herbs, soap, shampoo made of honey and natural herbs, and perfumes composed of jasmine, lily and jasmine.”

He added: The Ministry of Tourism provided the necessary facilities to the participants, indicating that it sells its products at prices lower than the market.

Ahmed Al-Issa, the owner of the beekeeping company, pointed out that they have been participating in the exhibition since 2008, and this year they are displaying honey products, pollen, populis candies, honey with honeydew, citrus honey, anise, nigella, thistle, mountain honey, and bitter plant honey that is used to treat diabetes patients.

Al-Issa pointed to the good demand from visitors to these products, which are sold with discounts of up to 50 percent on any type of honey.

Ayoub Ajaj from Ajaj Wood Company explained that the company produces beehives and their requirements and everything a beekeeper needs to build hives, stressing that there is a demand for its products for their quality and reduced prices compared to the markets, where the percentage of discounts on sales reaches 15 percent.

Nizar Abu Hani, one of the fair’s visitors, said: “Visiting the exhibition constitutes an opportunity to spend enjoyable times with the family, in addition to seeing useful products for the family and obtaining them at reasonable prices,” while Rama Rabat, from the countryside of Damascus, referred to the atmosphere of joy that the exhibition brings, calling on everyone to visit him to spend enjoyable times. In addition to the possibility of shopping at discounted prices.
