Benz driver loses consciousness - and slips on the gas

Due to a sudden illness, a 52-year-old lost consciousness on Friday at 9.30 p.m. on Wasserburger Straße (B304) in Haar - and slipped on the accelerator of his Mercedes.

– The driver, a 52-year-old from the southern district of Munich, was traveling from Baldham in the direction of Haar and, according to the police, wanted to stop at the junction with Flurstrasse on the right-hand side of the road.
In the area of the parking strip there, the man lost consciousness and accelerated his vehicle.
Benz rammed construction fences and signs in front of the vaccination center
In the further course he drove against several construction fences and signs at the vaccination center.
As a result of the accident, the Mercedes was severely damaged and was then no longer drivable.
According to initial investigations, the traffic accident resulted in property damage in the lower five-digit range.
Ambulance takes the driver to the hospital
The 52-year-old suffered no accident-related injuries.
However, he was taken to a hospital to have his health checked.

The Haar volunteer fire brigade provided first aid to the man and secured the scene of the accident.
To do this, the B 304 had to be closed towards the city centre.
The Haar fire brigade, with several vehicles on duty, picked up spilled operating materials and cleaned the roadway.
