For more than a year, Bill Cosby has been in prison for sexual abuse - the former TV star appealed against the verdict. However, an appeals court considers his guilt proven.

Former TV star Bill Cosby has lost the appeal to his conviction for sexual abuse. An appellate court in the state of Pennsylvania upheld the ruling of first instance and upheld the three and a half years of imprisonment against the actor.

Cosby was convicted in 2018 of sexually abusing a woman in 2004. The court found it proven that the now 82-year-old had drugged and victimized his victim Andrea Constand at his home in Philadelphia.

The former TV star appealed. His lawyers argued that five women should not have been admitted to the trial as witnesses. However, the Appeals Court ruled that their statements revealed Cosby's strategy for "sexual assault".

Cosby could now move to the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. On request, his lawyers initially did not provide any information about the planned further action.
