A biological researcher claimed that on a whim, he secretly photographed the skirt of a woman in a short skirt in an escalator in a shopping mall, but was stopped by the woman and her mother and found a 27-second-long clip of the skirt on her mobile phone.
The researcher pleaded guilty earlier, and the case will be sentenced in the Kowloon City Court today (30th).
Acting Chief Magistrate Wong Ya-yin pointed out that the defendant's probation report was positive and he had been studying hard in the past.
Although the circumstances of this case are serious, I know that the defendant has contacted the Caritas Family Service Center for counseling, which shows that he is actively facing his own problems, and sentenced him to accept probation for 12 months.
Defendant Gan Quan (38 years old, biological researcher), accused of photographing X's private parts for sexual purposes or dishonesty on the escalator on the second floor of Zhuyuan Shopping Centre, 15 Zhuyuan Road, Wong Tai Sin, Kowloon, Hong Kong on May 13, 2022 conduct the conduct described above without regard to whether the conduct obtains the consent of the X.
Defendant Gan Quan admitted to secretly photographing the bottom of a woman's skirt at the Kowloon City Court and was sentenced to probation for one year.

The victim felt that the defendant was standing behind him to expose
The case stated that X was wearing a short skirt and shopping with his mother in the mall that day, and when he took the escalator, he found the defendant standing tightly behind him.
X felt uncomfortable and turned around to find the defendant holding a mobile phone and photographing the bottom of X's skirt with a rear-facing camera.
Seeing this, X angrily reprimanded the defendant, and his mother stepped forward to stop the defendant and call the police.
The police later found a 27-second clip of the bottom of Z's skirt in the defendant's mobile phone. The defendant said under the warning: "I am a playful person, so I grabbed the bottom of the phone shadow man's skirt on a whim."
