The students of the Max Jacob college in Saint-Jean-de-la-Ruelle (Center-Val de Loire) in the suburbs of Orleans must have been quite frightened.
While they were welcoming Latifa Ibn Ziaten, mother of the first victim of the terrorist Mohammed Merah in 2012, a person telephoned the reception of the establishment and threatened to "blow everything up", this Wednesday, October 20, according to France blue.
Latifa Ibn Ziaten was informed of the threat fifteen minutes before the end of her conference, at 11:45 am, by the officer in charge of her daily security, reports France Bleu.
She was then "brought to safety in an undisclosed place", before the 300 students were evacuated in turn around noon.
The college was then inspected from top to bottom by about thirty police officers who combed the 25 rooms of the establishment.
At 1 p.m., the bomb threat was lifted and the
situation was calm and "under control", according to France Bleu.
On Twitter, the mayor (PS) of Saint-Jean-de-la-Ruelle, Christophe Chaillou condemned this act and welcomed the intervention of the police.
I address all my support to @LatifaIbnZ and my thanks to the principal of the college Max Jacob, as well as to the police for their rapid intervention which made it possible to secure the college and its surroundings.

The day before, another bomb threat had been declared in a secondary school in Orleans, following threats, requiring the evacuation of 1,500 people this time.
"An investigation was opened by the Orléans prosecutor's office (a priori for apologizing for terrorism) and entrusted to the Orléans judicial police, to find the author of this malicious call", details France Bleu.
After the death of her son, Latifa Ibn Ziaten got involved in the fight against radicalization.
She is regularly the target of hate messages and threats.
