Booba announces a concert at the Stade de France for 2022

2021-09-20T16:36:10.205Z

The Hauts-de-Seine rapper will perform in Saint-Denis for the biggest concert of his career. A rare achievement for a French artist.

All he needed was that.

After twenty-five years of career, ten solo albums and unchallenged commercial success, Booba is now attacking the Stade de France.

He will be in concert in the Dionysian precinct on September 3, 2022. The ticket office opens on October 8 at 10 am.

The biggest concert of the Duke of Boulogne dates back to October 2018, when 32,000 spectators came to the Arena de La Défense, for a concert "

at home

".

The rapper is now working hard and is challenging himself to sell the 80,000 seats at the Stade de France.

Booba knows the venue: he performed there in 2008, but as a guest of the Urban Peace festival - he was also illustrated by throwing a bottle of whiskey at a spectator.

Next year, he will become the second French-speaking rapper to headliner at the venue, after Gims in 2019.

Four singles and questions

The announcement of this concert comes six months after the release of

Ultra

, which Booba was selling at the time as his last album.

This record as a last-ditch was a huge commercial success, counting 12 million plays on the day of its release on Spotify.

Despite a more than mixed critical reception, the album has since been certified platinum.

Some may have believed in a real end of career for the rapper, others saw a simple goodbye in album format, to focus on singles and the promotion of young talents through his various labels.

The second hypothesis was thus confirmed.

Since

Ultra

, Booba released

Kayna

,

Plaza Athénée

,

Dragon

then

Variant at the

beginning of September.

Four singles in a few months, and therefore now a major concert for 2022. It also connects showcases through provincial nightclubs, but no tour has yet been announced.

Almost twenty years after his first solo album, the classic

Temps Mort,

the Boulogne-Billancourt rapper does not seem determined to take a break.
