Book Fair, crowd at the inauguration at the Lingotto in Turin

The 34th edition of the International Book Fair kicks off in Turin.

The event, which this year is the largest ever, opened at the Lingotto, with ministers Dario Franceschini and Patrizio Bianchi, followed by a lecture by the Indian writer Amitav Ghosh.

Thousands of people, including many schoolchildren, queued up this morning to enter the fair which will host meetings, book presentations and concerts with guests from all over the world until Monday.

The gates of the two entrances, that of the main pavilion and that of the Oval, opened with about twenty minutes late on the scheduled time, waiting for the go-ahead from the firefighters, while the finishing touches were given to the fittings.

As soon as the OK arrived, people started entering.

This was stated by the Minister of Culture Dario Franceschini on his arrival at the Lingotto for the inauguration in the Oval Pavilion of the Turin Book Fair 2022 with the Minister Patrizio Bianchi.
