Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are long gone, but the two ex-spouses' falling out continues to heat up media coverage.
Now apparently new details about the beginning of the end of the relationship have become known.
During a flight from France to California six years ago, Jolie and Pitt had an altercation that led to their final breakup.
Jolie filed for divorce, which became official in 2019.
In court documents of a current trial in Los Angeles, the US actress has now described in detail Pitt's alleged outbreak of violence on the plane in September 2016.
In the documents, to which several US media, such as the New York Times, refer, Jolie, 47, accuses her ex-husband of severe physical violence against her and some of the children, who were aged 8 to 8 at the time 15 years were.
There is talk of shaking, choking and a slap in the face.
Pitt's confidants, 58, initially dismissed the allegations as "completely untrue."
Jolie keeps revising and reinventing her descriptions of the events of the time, Pitt officials said in a statement obtained by US broadcaster CNN and the dpa news agency.
"Every time she doesn't get what she wants, she adds completely untrue information."
In autumn 2016, investigators investigated the plane incident, but without publishing any details about it.
The federal police FBI announced in November that the investigation against Pitt had been closed.
The current legal dispute is about the southern French winery Château Miraval.
According to the New York Times, Jolie has filed a so-called counterclaim against Pitt in a Los Angeles court.
She was responding to a lawsuit Pitt filed against Jolie in February.
Pitt has accused Jolie of selling her interest in the property to a third party without his consent.
Court documents say Jolie and her six children were unable to return to the property because of the pain Pitt caused the family on the plane that day, according to CNN.
Pitt and Jolie met while filming Mr.
and Mrs. Smith” fell in love and had started dating in the mid-2000s.
