A 52-year-old man hit and injured the doctor on a vaccination bus in Braunschweig.
The suspect had a consultation with the doctor on Tuesday, as the police announced on Wednesday.
Previously, he had harassed people in the queue with statements critical of the vaccination.
After his attack on the doctor, the man fled, but could be caught by the police.
He also slightly injured an officer.
The 52-year-old from the Wolfenbüttel district is now being investigated for assault and resistance to law enforcement officers.
Attack on vaccination team in Dresden
On Wednesday, a vaccination team in Dresden was even attacked with pyrotechnics.
As the city administration announced in the evening, a stranger threw a fireworks at the team that was in action in the Bürgersaal in the Prohlis district.
The man was able to escape.
Nobody was injured in the attack.
Those present alerted the police.
The vaccination campaign was canceled.
Mayor Dirk Hilbert (FDP) condemned the act sharply.
“Such an attack is inhuman and stupid.
I am appalled at how brutal parts of our society are now acting.
That has nothing to do with a critical but civilized discourse about vaccinating against Corona. "Anyone who practices violence and puts human life in danger must be severely punished.
The city of Dresden now wants to push ahead with its efforts for a new vaccination center in the Dresden trade fair.
“An incident like this speaks in favor of a central vaccination center based on the model that existed until the end of September, because it can be better protected with security guards and special security measures and the capacities are greater,” says Hilbert.
