Stabbed to death in East England.

David Ames, a Member of Parliament from the Conservative Party of Britain, was stabbed to death today (Friday) during a meeting with representatives of a church in his constituency in the East of England.

Police arrested the stabber, whose motives have not yet been clarified.

Ames, 69, was first elected to parliament in 1983, as a regional representative in Sildon, and in 1997 moved to represent the Southwest.

His attack is reminiscent of that of Labor member Stephen Times in 2010, who was stabbed to death in his constituency office, and the deadly shooting of Labor Joe Cox days before the 2016 Brexit referendum.
