British Queen: Queen Elizabeth II was hospitalized overnight

Elizabeth II spent the night in the hospital on Thursday.

The Buckingham Palace announced on Thursday evening.

The palace went on to say that the reason for the stay was preliminary investigations.

In the meantime she was back in Windsor Palace and in good shape, it said.

Accordingly, the overnight stay also had practical reasons.

In addition, one absolutely wanted to exercise caution.

A few days ago it became known that the Queen had canceled a trip to Northern Ireland for health reasons.

Instead, on the advice of her doctors, she rested, according to the palace.

The 95-year-old monarch was in good spirits, but disappointed that she could not keep her appointments in Northern Ireland, it said.

She only received business representatives in Windsor on Tuesday.
