The French are flocking to individual houses.
This is the teaching of the assessment drawn up by Olivier Salleron, the president of the French Building Federation (FFB).
Over the first six months of 2021, the number of home sales increased by 16.3% compared to the first half of 2019. The year 2020, marked by confinements, is totally forgotten.
The observation is identical at the level of building permits, with a surge of 18.3%.

But the situation is mixed.
If the rural mayors obviously have no difficulty in delivering these precious administrative keys, this is not the case for the mayors of the largest cities and, above all, of the metropolises.
In the area of collective housing, sales fell by 7.3% between the first semesters of 2021 and 2019, a consequence of the drop in building permits of 6.9% over the same period.
