Runner-up RB Leipzig missed the start of the season under new coach Jesse Marsch. Against Hertha, however, the Leipzigers managed everything. And an 18-year-old made history in Leverkusen.

With just four points from the first five league games, runners-up Leipzig started the season, while RB took just one point from the last four competitive games. For the game against Hertha, Leipzig coach Jesse Marsch switched his team tactically, acted for the first time with a three-man chain - and plowed over the Berliners. In the first half, Yussuf Poulsen stood out, who was in the starting line-up instead of star signing André Silva. Poulsen prepared the first goal by Christopher Nkunku (16th) with a clever way of letting the ball through before he - on Nkunku's presentation - scored himself (23rd).

Hertha appeared after two wins, the only point wins of the season so far, and was even lucky: The strong Emil Forsberg failed for Leipzig on the crossbar (34th), a goal from Lukas Klostermann was denied (37th).

The goals came later, however: Nordi Mukiele decided the game before the break when he finished completely free with a free kick from the left half-field at the second post (45th + 3).

In the second half Forsberg drove a penalty (59th), Nkunku with a free kick in the corner (70th) and Amadou Haidara (77th) the result.

Hertha never lost higher in the Bundesliga, most recently in 2012 they lost 6-0 to Bayern.

The Leipzig team won 8-0 against Mainz 05 once in 2019/2020.

A player who has already scored ten Bundesliga goals has never been younger: Bayer Leverkusen's Florian Wirtz achieved something historic with his opening goal against Mainz 05. In the 62nd minute, the 18-year-old and 139-day-old national player played a one-two with Jeremie Frimpong and simply stayed in the penalty area. When the opponent was moving on, he suddenly stood free, took the ball and shot into the far corner. It is his fourth goal in four assists in what is now the fifth league game.

Otherwise it was a respectable soccer game in Leverkusen.

Both Bayer goalkeeper Lukáš Hrádecký and Mainz goalkeeper Robin Zentner prevented earlier goals.

The fact that the game was not decided earlier was due to Amine Adli's narrow offside position (64th).

Leverkusen also celebrated their fourth win in their sixth league game.

For Mainz, a series of three games ended without defeat.

VfL suffered their first defeat in their sixth Bundesliga game - Wolfsburg took the lead against TSG.

Ridle Baku flicked the ball past Hoffenheim's goalkeeper Oliver Baumann into the far corner from more than 20 meters away (25th).

In stoppage time in the first half, TSG striker Andrej Kramarić equalized with a head after a corner kick (45th + 2), later Christoph Baumgartner turned the game around with his goal (74th).

Pavel Kadeřábek ensured the final score when he dusted off space after a free kick from the post by David (81st).

The success - Hoffenheim's first after four previous games without a win - was experienced by only 8,523 spectators in the stadium - it was already the third home game of the season, to which less than 9,000 people had come in Sinsheim.

Around 15,000 fans are currently admitted there; the 3G rule applies.

Eintracht is still waiting for the first win of the season.

The team, which narrowly missed the Champions League last year, also played a draw in Cologne, it is the sixth draw in a row across all competitions and leaves the Frankfurt team in 13th place with five points.

Cologne, now with three draws in a row, are sixth with nine points.

The fact that Eintracht did not even lose was due to the Cologne chances evaluation.

It is true that Ellyes Skhiri had put FC in the lead following a standard after a presentation by Jonas Hector (14th).

Otherwise, the guests missed several opportunities on second goal.

The Frankfurt equalizer had summer signing Rafael Borré after submission by Filip Kostic (45 + 6).

Union dominated the game over long distances, only the goal did not seem to fall.

Then a goal debutant decided the game: Kevin Behrens had come from Sandhausen in the summer, for a long time he only played in the regional league and with the SVS in the second division.

In the 88th minute, the striker got the ball on the left in the penalty area and shot it outstandingly in the right angle.
