Bundesliga: Schalke beats Mainz and heads to the top

FC Schalke 04 have won for the third time in a row: Thanks to a late goal by Amine Harit, the Royal Blues scored a 2-1 victory against Mainz.

The Schalke uptrend continues: Thanks to their third success in a row, S04 moves up to second place in the table. The goals for the hosts were achieved by Suat Serdar (36) and Amine Harit (89). Karim Onisiwo (74.) scored the equalizer.

From the start, a balanced game developed in which Schalke tried to play opportunities to score over the wings. It was dangerous for the first time, however, when Amine Harit made it to the center in the 13th minute: The Moroccan passed the ball to Guido Burgstaller, while Mainz goalkeeper Robin Zentner parried the Schalke striker's shot from close range. However, a goal would not have been counted due to an offside position.
