Denis Zakaria: goalscorer against BVB

Borussia Dortmund missed out on keeping up with Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich.
BVB lost 0: 1 (0: 1) when coach Marco Rose returned to Mönchengladbach.
Denis Zakaria (37th minute) scored Gladbach's winning goal in a heated game characterized by tough duels.
Expressions of this: Whistles and insults against Rose, who had switched from one Borussia to the other in the summer, and yellow-red against Dortmund's Mahmoud Dahoud, who had to leave the field before the break (40th).
BVB went into the match without star striker Erling Haaland, the Norwegian, who scored eleven goals in eight competitive appearances this season, was absent due to muscular problems.
In addition, captain Marco Reus was injured.
No good omens for the Dortmunders, who then actually remained largely harmless.
The 16-year-old Youssoufa Moukoko and Raphaël Guerreiro released the only two Dortmund shots in half one with a free kick.
A poor record for a team that had scored eleven goals in the past three Bundesliga games.
The more dangerous Borussia was that from Mönchengladbach.
She managed six shots before the break.
And: She took the only really clear opportunity.
Zakaria got the ball after a one-two with Matthias Ginter in the penalty area and shot it past BVB keeper Gregor Kobel into the goal (37th).
Only three minutes later the next setback for Dortmund: Dahoud saw yellow-red after his second foul and expressions of displeasure against referee Deniz Aytekin.
Dortmund played more dangerously outnumbered than before, but it didn't take much for that.
The header from Donyell Malen after a cross from Thomas Meunier was the best guest opportunity of the game, but the Dutchman missed the goal (46.).
In stoppage time Thorgan Hazard did not bring the ball on goal, but headed it over it.
Gladbach didn't create many opportunities either.
Zakaria failed to goalkeeper Kobel (74th), Breel Embolo headed just past the goal after the subsequent corner.
Otherwise, the hosts tried to keep the lead and they succeeded.
With the home win, only the second league success for new coach Adi Hütter, Gladbach improved from 16th to eleventh place for the time being.
Dortmund is fourth, four points behind Bayern.
