The construction of a hydrogen filling station on the premises of the bus company Geldhauser in Hofolding and a new hut for the Faistenhaarer boys north of Tannenstrasse are becoming concrete.

In its most recent meeting, the Brunnthal City Council voted with a clear majority of 16: 3 for the continuation of both projects.

Hofolding / Faistenhaar

- Until mid-April, the citizens had the opportunity to express their opinions and concerns to the community.

According to Mayor Stefan Kern (CSU), the objections were manageable.

This does not result in any major planning changes for either sub-project.

The municipality now also wants to gradually work through the few official objections for a resolution of approval and a resolution in the articles of association, which, if possible, should lead to building rights on the site this year.

A majority of the committee also approved a slight expansion of the planning scope to the south to create additional parking spaces.

Burschenhütte: Noise protection stipulated in the lease

Christine Zietsch (SPD) wanted “local compensation areas for both buildings.

In addition, it is important to prevent "tension in the environment" with a view to the boys' new home.

"It is certainly not enough to offer the citizens, they could call the police if necessary," said Zietsch.

However, this was formulated in a communal statement.

"The noise protection requirements are already mandatory in the lease," replied Kern.

But it is also important to take other citizens' views into account.

“A citizen has just emphasized the important social aspect that the boys bring in terms of tradition and customs to the community”.

In an area with already a lot of social life, the “boys are in good hands”.

Skeptical voices about hydrogen filling station

While the new home of the boys is taking on clear contours, there are far more temporal and technical imponderables when it comes to realizing the filling station.

As is well known, buses with climate-friendly hydrogen drives are to be used on all MVV lines in the district from October next year.

A petrol station with two petrol pumps, technical systems and an exchangeable trailer tank will be created on Tannenstrasse in the southeast of the Geldhauser company premises.

Fuel cell buses and trucks are to be refueled at the public 350-bar hydrogen filling station.

Around 20 refueling operations are initially planned every day.

The Geldhauser company plans to use the first five quiet hydrogen buses in the municipality as early as October 2022.

"Is everything going well, we haven't heard anything for a relatively long time?" Asked Michael Lechner (Greens) critically.

"As far as I know, everything is going according to plan," emphasized town hall chief Kern.

The project is now well advanced.

Hilde Miner (Greens) emphasized.

“Hydrogen alone is not enough either.

We also need green electricity.

Hydrogen only makes sense with excess electricity.

"Not if you need a new nuclear power plant for it".

You have to see where green electricity comes from.

“We can't get past the wind turbines on the Brunnthal corridor,” she noted.

In the end, not only Miner, but Lechner and Jürgen Gott (UBW) also refused to approve the planning progress.
