The former player of the Syrian national football team and the president of Al-Wehda club Maher Al-Sayed achieved an unprecedented achievement for the Syrian sport by entering the Hundred Club at the international level, after the International Sports Statistics Institution verified that he had played 108 international matches from 1998 until 2013.

In a statement to SANA, Al-Sayed stated that this achievement is for the Syrian sport in general and the football game in particular, indicating that he is proud to have ranked 321 out of 525 international players who have played 100 international matches and more, pointing out at the same time that this achievement constitutes an important catalyst for all young players. Al-Sayed revealed that the club’s strategy since taking over the presidency depends on building age rules and relying on the club’s children to reach the top in various games, as well as working collectively, which facilitates the construction process to reduce time and reap the benefits locally and abroad.
