This little sentence slipped in September to the
Wall Street Journal
by Steve Boom, director of Amazon Music, now takes on a special flavor.
According to the same business newspaper, Amazon is currently in advanced talks to acquire the US podcast studio Wondery.
The latter was courted by Apple but also Sony.
The operation would be costed at 300 million dollars.
The world of digital audio is far from foreign to the e-commerce giant.
Amazon is already one of the heavyweights of the digital audio book market thanks to its subsidiary Audible, which it acquired in 2008. It also owns its own music streaming service, Amazon Music.
The latter remains behind Apple Music and Spotify in terms of use.
But it has two weight levers to gain visibility.
